January, 2023 Newsletter –
Dear Fellow Member and Friend,
As a reminder, we have instituted a planning meeting at 12:30 PM every Wednesday at the Senior Center to discuss and to make decisions on all topics relating to the organization. We are now actively working on the monthly programs and exploring trip ideas.
We have the following events on our schedule:
January 12, 2023 (Thursday) – 1:30 PM (Montgomery Senior Center)
During our year-end holiday party, Mayor Devra Keenan graciously accepted our invitation to speak at our next meeting. After a short talk, there will be a Q&A session. If you have a question, please prepare to ask it during the Q&A. Please be respectful in phrasing of your question since the Mayor has been an ally in supporting the organization.
As in past Januarys before the pandemic, we will be collecting the annual membership dues. Same as before, the dues are $10. Since we are keeping the dues at $10, we need to consider reducing the subsidy and/or charging a nominal fee for many events because of rising costs from inflation.
When you sign in to the meeting, a copy of the updated By-Laws is available to everyone. Thank you for the efforts of the By-Laws Committee and contributions from others.
Since we have a new administration, there are many vacancies in all the committees and positions. Consider volunteering and join the winning team.
The Birthday Breakfast is scheduled for the following Thursday, January 19th. Please sign up with June Lubas if you are interested. If you cannot make it to the January meeting, but interested in the Birthday Breakfast, you can send an email to montgomeryseniorcitizens@gmail.com or call Lou at (609) 466-3023. We need an accurate count to make the planning go smoothly.
January 19, 2023 (Thursday) 10:00 AM (Hillsborough Star Diner)
This breakfast is to celebrate those whose birthday are in September, October, November or December. The breakfast is free for the celebrants. For all others there are selections for $10 or more.

February 9, 2023 (Thursday) – 1:30 PM (Montgomery Senior Center)
We tentatively have speaker, DJ Wright, with a talk entitled “Story of Your Life” He comes highly recommended by Caitlyn Campbell. We will also have Bingo hosted by Montgomery Senior Citizens. There will be some wonderful prizes for the winners.
